Georgian e-commerce is developing as Covid-19 has inspired a lot of consumers to buy online for the first time or amplify the frequency of online purchases, while Georgian organizations have been pressured to amplify their online offerings.
The volume of the local e-commerce market increased by 3.2 times to US$38.6m in 2020. Local e-commerce spending is expected to increase by 52% to US$308m by 2025.
The most prevalent category in Georgian e-commerce is electronics, household appliances and equipment, accounting for 65% of local e-commerce income in 2020. Apparel and accessories are the 2nd-largest category, catching 16% of the e-commerce market, followed by household goods and furniture with an 8% share in 2020.
